OutFit to play the Stagecoach
Homegrown hip hop/nu Jazz dance band The Outfit will perform at 10PM Friday at the Stagecoach Bar.  Admission is Free.
The OutFit started its early music writing roots about six years ago in a cabin on Fish Creek Road.  The ensemble began with drummer and keyboardist Kyle Johnson (formerly of Funk Missile) and The Amorphic (now of the VaporBeat Cafe on KHOL 89.1 FM) writing tunes together.  They were quickly joined by saxophone player J.T. Schoonover and bassist Corey Wheeler.  The band has since grown to include two new members, drummer Justin McCalla (Mandatory Air, One Ton Pig) and percussionist Mac Munroe (Mandatory Air).
With the combination of a six string bass, saxophone and cerebral vocals mixed with turntable antics, The OutFit produces highly danceable tunes, Schoonver said.
"The goal is to have fun, keep them dancing, make it unique,: he said.  "Lyrics address our world politics, history of war, science, religion, and the mystery of love, all night long, without rest."
